Fred R. Buenrostro Jr. has been the CalPERS Chief Executive Officer since December 2002, administering the nation's largest public pension fund. CalPERS provides retirement and health benefits to more than 1.4 million current and retired California public employees and their families.

As the System's seventh CEO, Mr. Buenrostro oversees CalPERS employees, budget, and operations, spanning investments, health, and retirement benefits administration, actuarial and employer services, and other supplemental programs.

Mr. Buenrostro came to CalPERS with more than 25 years experience in public service, including more than 15 years on the CalPERS Board and 11 years on the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) Board. He served as the representative to the CalPERS and CalSTRS Boards for two State Controllers, three State Treasurers, and the Director of the Department of Personnel Administration.

Prior to becoming CalPERS CEO, he was the Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel Administration, where he was responsible for the overall administration of the Department. He also served as the Director's top advisor on a wide range of policies and programs affecting State employees.

In addition, Mr. Buenrostro serves as the First Vice President of the California Association of Public Retirement Systems (CALAPRS), an organization of more than three dozen California public pension systems. He also serves as a Board Member of the United Way California Capital Region.

Mr. Buenrostro has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Pepperdine University and a law degree from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific.

Mr. Wunderlich is currently serving as Executive Vice President of Investment Banking and plays a vital role with building upon an already impressive firm record. Mr. Wunderlich’s role includes, but not limited to due diligence, fund marketing, merger & acquisition, valuation, business development, restructuring and advisory. Furthermore, Mr. Wunderlich participates in the global strategic planning for the firm which includes building and maintaining relationships on both the public and private sector. Mr. Wunderlich is also responsible for managing all employees and sub-agents in the investment banking division.

Prior to joining ARVCO Capital, Mr. Wunderlich had an extensive career serving many different roles in the food & beverage, hotel, hospitality, and the gaming industries. In 2006, Mr. Wunderlich joined the finance world with ARVCO Capital Research and has quickly established himself in the areas of alternative and renewable energy and corporate finance. Mr. Wunderlich received his Bachelors of Science in finance and MBA from Missouri State University. During his time at Missouri State he contributed to the golf team and was recognized as a scholar athlete.

Atul Singh is the President & CEO of Coca-Cola India, a responsibility that he took over on September 1, 2005 after working as the President of East, Central & South (ECS) China Division of Coca-Cola. Atul is responsible for Coca-Cola’s operations in India, SriLanka, Bangaldesh, Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives.

Under his stewardship, Coca-Cola’s business in India has undergone major transformation and reported seven consecutive quarters of growth, with double digit growth in the last four consecutive quarters.

Atul joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1998 as Vice President, Operations of Coca-Cola, India Division. He led the Franchise Operations and Key Accounts group of the India Division from 1998 to 2001. Atul then moved to China for his stint as Region Manager of East China, China Division and later became the President of the ECS, China Division. The Division consisted of Shanghai, the Swire Territories of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Additionally, Atul was also responsible for the global and strategic Key Customer Relationships for Greater China and was a member of the Customer Leadership Council. Prior to this, Atul served as Deputy Division President and headed the Operations group of China Division. Under his leadership, mainland China operations was among the fastest growing Coca-Cola businesses.

Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Atul worked with The Colgate Palmolive Company for 10 years and held several roles including Country General Manager, Nigeria (1995-1998), Finance Director and then Country General Manager, Romania (1992-1995) and Finance Manager, Body Care Division, USA (1990-1992). Prior to Colgate, Atul worked as an Auditor with Price Waterhouse in New York.

Atul is currently the Chairman of American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in India, Chairman of the Environment Committee of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Chairman of the Sports Committee of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Atul is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, a global body dedicated to creating ‘Better Leaders through Education and Idea Exchange’.

Atul is a Commerce Graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and holds an MBA degree from Texas Christian University, USA. He has traveled extensively through the globe and has had working stints in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.

Born in Washington D.C. in 1942, Mr McCarthy was educated at Cambridge University where he received a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws degree. He is a Barrister-at-law and practised in London from 1965 to 1966. He worked with the New York Law Firm of Shearman and Sterling from 1966 to 1967 and joined the then Department of External Affairs in 1968.

Mr McCarthy has served as Australia’s Ambassador to Japan (2001-2004); Indonesia (1997-2000); the United States (1995-97); Thailand (1992-94); Mexico (1985-87); and Vietnam (1981-83). He has also served in Damascus, Baghdad and Vientiane as well as having had two earlier postings in Washington. Mr McCarthy was appointed Australian High Commissioner to New Delhi in December 2004.

From 1994 to 1995 Mr McCarthy was Deputy Secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Mr. Nydam has over ten years of experience in private equity. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Mr. Nydam was a principal of Booz Allen Hamilton where he directed clean and new energy technology related to private equity engagements in the Middle East and led Booz Allen’s highly successful re-entry into the Kuwait market after a five year absence.

Before that, Mr. Nydam founded Signal Hill Advisors, an advisory firm providing venture capital firms and their portfolio companies with investment identification, investment due diligence, business strategy, market assessment, product pricing and financial strategy advisory services. Prior to founding Signal Hill, he was a principal at L.E.K. Consulting and was responsible for providing top-tier venture capital firms, private equity firms, and corporate investors with investment strategy, investment identification and investment due diligence advisory services.

Previously in his career, Mr. Nydam spent three years working as a Foreign Affairs Officer for the U.S. Department of State where he developed and managed a multi-million-dollar development assistance program that helped Middle Eastern and Asian governments attract western private investment into their oil and gas sectors. He also spent five years managing a natural resources investment advisory firm. Mr. Nydam has a BS and MS in Geology and Geophysics both from Yale University. He also holds an MA in International Relations and an MBA with honors from University of Chicago.

Chris Greenwood is Director of Research at New Energy Finance (NEF), the leading provider of information and financial research to investors in clean energy. He joined the company in 2005.

NEF’s global team tracks and analyses global investment activity in all of the clean energy sectors, and provides information and other services to investors in clean energy, low carbon technologies and carbon markets. NEF’s Service Sectors include wind, solar, biofuels, biomass, China, venture capital/private equity, public markets, and carbon markets. During 2007, approximately $150 billion of clean energy investment activity was tracked and analysed by NEF.

Chris’s responsibilities include managing NEF’s research and analysis activities. This involves understanding the value chains of each clean energy sector, mapping organisations and investors, and analysing investment activity. Chris ensures that clients’ needs are met through NEF’s publications and analysis services.

Chris has 15 years of analysis, consulting and management experience from a number of roles within European energy companies, consultancy and IT services organisations. He holds a B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College, London.

Chandrajit Banerjee is presently the Director General of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)

Mr. Banerjee has over 20 years of experience in CII. He has held senior positions in the last many years in CII.

In CII, he was overall responsible for the verticals like: Services (Sectors) Council Work; Financial Services; Corporate Governance Council; Life Sciences (Pharma/Biotech) Sectors; Family Businesses Council; CII’s Logistics Institute.

Mr. Banerjee was also the Executive Director of the National Foundation of Corporate Governance (NFCG), an organization set up by the Ministry of Company Affairs, Government of India, to promote better corporate governance practices in India.

Some of the other important positions held in the past in CII include: Head of the Regional & States Operations in CII; Head as Regional Director of the Western, Southern and the Northern Regions; Head of Organizational functions – HRD / Training; Finance; Administration; Information Technology; Internal Governance; Printing & Publishing; Headed CII’s Economics Department; looked after CII’s National Council; Headed Press & Media Communications; Headed CII’s Small Industry Department; Headed sectoral work in Affiliated Associations; Headed Special Events for CII. He was also in the International Division of CII (known then as Export Services Division).

Before he was taking over as DG, CII he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) for a year.

Mr. Banerjee has worked out of the CII-Head Quarters in New Delhi several times, and has also been based at Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad.

Mr. Sehgal has 20 years of leadership experience in strategy, operations and investments in technology related businesses. He currently heads technology and renewable energy initiatives at SUN, and has led SUN’s comprehensive analysis of the Indian clean technology space, fostering close relationships within the governmental, business and entrepreneur communities in the sector.

Earlier, he was with McKinsey & Company, where he counseled senior management and boards of leading global companies in the energy, retail, telecommunications, software and consumer product sectors on broad ranging business issues including corporate strategy, operations, product commercialization, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and turnarounds.

Mr. Sehgal was also Managing Director of Quark, a $300 million software company, where he managed an organization of 1600 employees across Asia Pacific. Earlier he served as Vice President at the world’s leading supply chain management and logistics company, i2 Technologies, and has held a number of management positions with Kraft Foods.

Mr. Sehgal received an MBA with distinction from the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University (Jane Robertson Scholar). He also received an M.S. with distinction in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and a B.S. in Physics Honors from Delhi University.

Mr. Sehgal has co-authored several books and is a frequent speaker at clean technology forums. He is on the advisory board of the Indian Cleantech Forum; on the Steering Committee of New Ventures India, a leading clean technology accelerator; and on the Steering Committee of Indian Green Building Council.

Mr Debashish Majumdar, is a professional Engineer and holds a B.Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering (1976) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Mr Majumdar has worked in both private and public sector and has rich experience of more than 31 years in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Mr Majumdar has been with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) for over ten years and presently heads the organization as its Chairman & Managing Director. IREDA is a unique financial institution set up by the Government of India for financing projects related to renewable energy and energy efficiency on a commercial basis. Currently he is spearheading promotion and development of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in the private sector through appropriate financing mechanisms.

Anton has broad experience in Asia and Australia in wind development and asset management. Before joining Macquarie, Anton was at Roaring 40s, a joint venture between CLP Group and Hydro Tasmania, where he was the General Manager of the renewable energy developer for Asia. Since the inception of Roaring 40s in 2005, he developed and implemented the company’s strategy for the Asian region, and established in excess of 600MW’s of wind farm joint venture projects in China and over 200MW in India.

Before this he worked at Hydro Tasmania, where he was Group Manager of Finance and Investment of Renewables Development. He previously held commercial development and accounting roles at a number of energy and resources companies in Australia including Acacia Resources, Goldfields Ltd and Pasminco.

Mr. Nyati is a post-graduate in chemical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Pilani, India.
Mr. Nyati has over 28 years of experience in India as well as Germany, Japan, UK, Canada and USA. He started his career in the National Productivity Council and was Head and Director-in-Charge of the Pollution Control Division. During this period, some of the key projects he undertook include:

• Leading the eight-year Indo-German Project to establish Industrial Pollution Prevention and Control services at NPC.
• Resource person/trainer for workshop organised by Asian Productivity Organisation (APO), Tokyo, USAID, GTS Germany, World Bank, NORAD, TERI, MoEF, IITs etc.
• Mr. Nyati joined as Head, Environmental Management Division of CII in 1992. He provides consultancy and training services to the Indian industry in the environment field. He has regular interaction with the Ministry of Environment & Forest and regulatory bodies in the country on policy matters on behalf of Indian Industry. He is also involved in facilitation of environmental technology transfer and business linkages internationally. In addition, Mr. Nyati is a member of :
• MoEF, Government of India & Central Pollution Control Board - many Registration and Monitoring Committees
• National Steering Committee on ODS phase out constituted by MoEF, Government of India.
• Research Council of National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur.

Mr. Nyati has been honoured by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for his contribution to the work of UN-IPCC – a joint winner of the Nobel Peace Prize 2007

Somak Ghosh is the Group President, Corporate Finance and Development Banking at YES BANK. He is spearheading the Corporate Finance practice in the Bank, which comprises four distinct Product Groups – Infrastructure Banking, Structured and Project Finance, Realty Banking and Financial Restructurings. He is also responsible for the Development and Knowledge Banking function, which includes focus on Food and Agri Strategic Advisory and Research (FASAR), Agri, Micro & Rural Banking, Corporate and Social Responsibility (Responsible Banking) and Strategic Initiatives – State Governments.

Somak has been working in the area of Microfinance for the past four years and heads the Bank’s Microfinance business which includes lending through partner organisations and a direct intervention model, YES SAMPANN, focused on providing holistic financial solutions to the base of the pyramid. Somak is part of the Executive Management Team at YES BANK and a member of the Bank’s ALCO (Asset Liability Committee) and the Management Credit Committee. Somak also has a deep professional interest in the area of sustainability and provides leadership to the Responsible Banking initiative at YES BANK. He has been instrumental in reviving interest in financing renewable energy projects in India by the commercial banking community and has represented on various international forums on topics covering inter-alia, CDM and Project Financing, Renewable Energy Financing in India, Sustainable Infrastructure and the Role of Banks.

Prior to joining YES BANK, he was a Director with Rabo India (100% subsidiary of Rabo International, the Dutch Banking major). He has over 13 years of experience in various capacities in India and Europe and in leading organizations like ICICI Ltd, Reliance Industries and Ispat Europe.

Somak holds an MBA Degree in Finance from FMS Delhi and B.E Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai.

Ms. Seema Arora catalysed the establishment of the CII Environment Management Division in 1992 and the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development in 2006. She has pioneered CII’s initiative on Environmental Management Systems (EMS) ISO 14001 and designed EMS for diverse industrial sectors including engineering, chemicals and paints, automobiles, automotive components, ceramics, cement, electronics, textile, thermal power stations, service industry, etc. Ms. Arora assisted the first Indian Company to get EMS certification in November 1995.

Her primary areas of expertise are Management Systems, (including Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, etc), Environmental Auditing, Environmental Training, Sustainable Development, Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening. She has successfully accomplished a number of training programmes on training on ISO 14001 requirements, Initial Environment Review, Environmental Legislation, Environmental Awareness, Train-the-Trainer on Environmental / EMS Awareness.

Ms. Arora has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the Delhi University. She has sixteen years experience in the field of Environmental Management and Sustainable Development.

Mr. Santtu Hulkkonen is presently Program Manager in Cleantech Finland, Finpro. He has a total professional experience of 8 years across Central and Eastern Europe, Benelux and India. He has specialization in consulting in business expansion, market entry strategies, business opportunity checks, sales channel development. He is also Finpro CSEE Energy and Environment Team Leader, having regional expertise and expert network in Central & Eastern Europe.

Earlier at Finpro Finland Trade Center, Australia, he was Market Analyst (2000), Consultant (2001-05), Head of Trade Center (2006), he was Environmental Consultant for United Nations Environment Program/ Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific UNEP/ ROAP, Thailand (1998).

Mr. Hulkkonen has done his Post Graduation in M. Sc. With specialization in Environment Technology, with an Industry Sector experience in Climate Change, Emission Trading, Joint Implementation, Clean Development Mechanism, Environmental Technologies (Waste management, water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control) and Renewable energy (biomass, waste-to-energy, wind, biogas).

Katie Hill is a Portfolio Associate with Acumen Fund, a social venture fund that invests in enterprises delivering affordable, critical goods and services – like health, water, housing and energy – to the poor. Katie is currently working on scaling up Acumen’s Energy Portfolio in India, which is concentrating on the supply of renewable energy and energy efficiency to low-income markets. Within the Water Portfolio, Katie leads on Acumen Fund’s investment in drip irrigation for small-scale farmers.

Katie had previously worked with Acumen Fund’s New York team, joining as a John Gardner Leadership Fellow. In New York, Katie concentrated on portfolio management and measurement—monitoring investments and tracking social and financial returns. She studied International Relations and Economics at Stanford University, receiving the Firestone Medal of Excellence for her thesis on the commercialization of microfinance in Uganda. In addition to her work in Uganda, she has significant work experience in rural education in Nepal and urban poverty in Ecuador.

Mr. Tandon leads Aveda Ecogreen Private Limited - a company generating renewable energy from green sources such as urban and industrial waste, small-hydro, and agri-biofuels. He is responsible for the company’s initiatives related to deployment of technological innovations in waste management, business development, corporate strategy, operational management and capacity building. He has a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Thapar Institute, Patiala.

VT Bharadwaj is a Vice President with Sequoia Capital India. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital India, VT worked at McKinsey & Company serving energy, automotive and retail clients. Jeff holds a number of senior Cleantech industry positions in Australia. He is a member of the SIM Classification Panel of the Financial and Energy Exchange and a member of the Management Committee of the Australia India Business Council.

Jeff lived for over a decade in North America where he developed a global Cleantech network. He was a successful entrepreneur, leading the growth and exit of Cleantech companies such as Carnamah and 4D Models Technology. He was a co-founder and Director of Innovest Strategic Value Advisors (Australia) and he negotiated the recent acquisition. In addition, he has led strategic consulting assignments for the Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate and is currently undertaking a economic study to accelerate growth of the “Victorian Cleantech Sector”.

Jeff graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Environmental Assessment and Land Use Policy from Deakin University, Melbourne and holds a Masters Degree in Sustainability Performance Measurement from Royal Roads University, Canada.

The Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN) is a coalition uniting Indian youth and Indian youth oriented organizations. It aims to build a generation wide movement to empower youth to take adequate action to ensure India rapidly transitions to a low carbon economy. Within months of its inception it held its first Delhi Youth Summit on Climate, where over a hundred young people came together to write climate policy for Delhi's 2021 Master Plan. Furthermore it has found popular support and interest from organisations such as Centre of Science & Environment, Greenpeace, The Climate Project, TERI, and also from the media such as the Hindustan times, NDTV and the Hindu.

Deepa is the co-founder of the Indian Youth Climate Network, and has invested a significant portion of time establishing its structure, facilitating interest, memberships and partnerships, and supporting its arising projects. Deepa's other work has involved being the Indian Coordinator for the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC), the peak youth body on climate change in Australia, acting as a liason for Indian and Australian initiatives. She is also the faith campaigns coordinator, strongly engaging youth from Hindu backgrounds on climate change, as well as also working with Christian and Muslim youth.

Previously Deepa has worked with PriceWaterhouse Coopers in their Business Assurance practice, and with their climate change team. She has also been a driver of climate change integration in tertiary institutions, working closely with her university to integrate sustainability in education, institutional practice and research & development. She also has been a youth representative for climate change and delivered presentations to peak tertiary education bodies such as the Australian Universities Purchasing Consortium, Australasian Association for Institutional Research and Australian Campuses Towards Sustainability.

Deepa is currently a studying bachelor of commerce at UTS. She is of Indian background and has grown up in Australia, therefore envisions the two countries working closer together, especially in terms of clean tech transfer and humanitarian support in the face of climate change.

Mr. A.S. Vishnoi has 43 years’ experience of working as Head of Paint Shops in various multinational companies and as Technical Head for a Paint Manufacturing Industry. Has worked with several automobile industries producing Scooters, Cars, Tractors and Trucks. Has been associated with Maharani Paints (India) Pvt. Richard Franklin joined SCT as its CEO in May 2007, with a brief to build a leading clean technology commercialisation business, specialising in technologies that provide innovative solutions in the field of low carbon, alternative energy, clean water and emissions control. Since joining SCT, Richard has assembled a portfolio of technologies, all of which are now being successfully deployed in the developing world in projects being developed using the Clean Development Mechanism.

Richard has over 15 years experience in investment banking, advising and researching companies in the energy and utilities sectors. Richard was head of the European Oil & Gas team at Morgan Stanley, during which he researched all of Europe’s major oil & gas companies. Prior to that, he covered the major European utility companies, from their privatisation and subsequent restructuring. Richard has also been involved in giving mergers and acquisitions advice to companies in the oil & gas sector.

Richard holds an MSc from Imperial College London in Environmental Technology, and is a passionate supporter of technology innovation as a means of meeting climate change and sustainability goals.

Phil Connor is a scientist and engineer based in Sydney, Australia who conducts innovative research and development in a variety of fields including solar energy. He obtained his engineering degree at Sydney University in 1973 and his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of New South Wales in1982.

Phil spent seven years at Macquarie University conducting research into speech and music using Fourier analysis and development of a fast digital signal processor and for the past eighteen years has been with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) developing electro-optical instruments for the remote sensing and classification of minerals for the mining industry using spectroscopy. In the background Phil has worked on a variety of Solar thermal and Photovoltaic projects. In the 1990's he developed a Rankine cycle thermal water pump with no moving parts that is powered from a solar trough collector.

In 2001 Phil devised the water-based solar PV concentrator and in 2002 built the first fully immersed solar concentrator. The LSA.

The LSA is a simple revolutionary solar technology that has the potential to produce electricity at costs comparable to fossil fuel generators.

The LSA system is based on floating solar collectors made mostly of plastic. Each has a very small area of silicon photovoltaic cells at the water surface with a large, thin plastic focussing lens rotating slowly above to track the sun. The water cools the silicon cells and in bad weather the lens is protected by rotating it fully under the water to avoid damage in high winds.

Sunengy Pty Ltd was formed in 2006 to develop and commercialise the LSA during which time the Patent granted on the system.

Raj Pai is the Managing Director of the South Asia Clean Energy Fund, a fund sponsored by Global Environment Fund (GEF) and YES BANK, and is leading its efforts to raise a $300 million fund focused on investing in the clean energy opportunities in the South Asia region. Raj brings with him over 17 years of experience spanning entrepreneurial, operational and venture investing activities.

Prior to GEF, Raj was a Managing Director at CID Capital, a 27 years old investment firm that has invested over $500 million of growth and expansion stage capital under its management in the US and along the US - India corridor. Raj was responsible for successfully raising and deploying two growth venture stage funds, investing in over 16 companies - leading efforts in technology, life sciences and clean technology areas. He was instrumental in business development and operating initiatives with several of his portfolio companies, particularly in the energy efficiency space. He was also recently involved in one of the largest domestic (Indian) strategic acquisition transactions in the information technology space.

Prior to CID, he worked in consulting and in an operational capacity for various Fortune 1000 technology companies globally - including AT&T, British Telecom, Telia Mobitel and Telstra. Prior to that, he was involved in an entrepreneurial venture in India, which was later acquired by an investor group. Raj is very active in the investment community in US and in India, and serves as a founding member/advisor to CleanTech India and New Ventures India (NVI).

Raj has done an MBA from the University of Chicago, USA, has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University, USA, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Bombay, India. In 2007, he was selected as a Marshall Memorial Fellow - a fellowship awarded, since 1982, to emerging leaders to foster and build a diverse global network in politics, government, business, and the environmental sector.

Mr. Saurabh Srivastava is one of India’s leading IT entrepreneurs, Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists. He chairs Infinity, India’s leading seed stage VC fund and has co founded India’s largest Angel network – Indian Angel Network. He chairs the Indian Venture Capital Association and the Asia Pacific Venture Capital association. He also sits on the boards of the Indian government’s National and several State Venture Capital Funds. He is a member of the Prime Minister’s Working Group on “Fostering Innovation and Sustaining Competitiveness”, chairs the Ministry of IT’s Working Group on Software Export and served on the Planning Commission’s Committee on Venture Capital and Innovation.

Mr. Srivastava founded one of India’s most trendsetting IT companies, IIS Infotech (now called Xansa). Xansa plc. is a US $ 800 mill IT company listed on the LSE. He is a co founder and Past Chairman of NASSCOM, the Indian Software Industry Association, and chairs its community service initiative - the NASSCOM Foundation. He is the Chairman of Emeritus of TIE Delhi, the world’s largest organisation devoted to Entrepreneurship. He is on the Advisory Board of the Imperial College, Business School London, an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at IIT, Mumbai, holds a Masters Degree from Harvard University , USA, and a Bachelors in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He has been conferred with several awards such as “the distinguished alumnus award” by IIT Kanpur; Honorary Doctorate in Technology by the University of Wolverhampton, UK; & most recently the Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the award for pioneering IT industry initiatives in India as a NASSCOM founder.

Dr. Shunmugam is working as the Chief Economist with the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited, and is involved in the analysis of the market and disseminating the same to the stakeholders including policy makers. Dr. Shunmugam joined MCX after having successfully completed tenure of 8 years with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) at the US Embassy, New Delhi reporting to the USDA about various Indian economic developments, agricultural production/supply, and trade policy developments.

A renowned authority on economic research, commodity markets, and trade issues Dr. Shunmugam has extensive experience in analyzing existing government policies and predicting policy changes due to the changing environment and its potential impact on commodity markets and trade. Dr. Shunmugam is a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, and is a gold medalist from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.

Mr. P.R.L.Rao is the Managing Director of KAKATIYA ENERGY SYSTEMS PVT. LTD. He is a Chartered Accountant by qualification but turned an entrepreneur and an electronic engineer by practice. He is instrumental in creating the company and the new family of lighting controls for energy conservation.

He played a key role in obtaining the IP rights and in arriving at strategic alliances with major customers with wide network. He has built a small but highly committed team for development which has yielded excellent results in terms of new and useful products for global market. Under his leadership the company has received awards for technical excellence from FAPCCI and Siemens Venture Capital.

FCUBED (Australia) Pty Ltd was established in 2004, by Peter Johnstone, (former CEO and founder of Integrated Packaging); to develop products for conservation and production of a critical resource, water.

During his 20 years as CEO of Integrated Packaging, the largest manufacturer of adhesive plastic stretch film in Australia and New Zealand, Peter lead a pivotal role as inventor and, driver of several innovative products such as the patented Round Bale Silage wrapping, the patented Cold Orientation Process (producing extremely thin films with increased mechanical properties and UV life) and the patented X Tend (an ultra thin film for covering crops to increase productivity and reduce the amount of water irrigation required to produce a crop).

During this time with integrated Peter was involved with several Greenfield start-ups, in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland as well as negotiating a number of complex joint ventures and licensing agreements.

After 3 years of extensive research, development and prototype testing F CUBED has developed and produced one of the worlds most efficient and cost effective SOLAR Desalination panels – CAROCELL.

F CUBED Australia will also start production of RAFTEX in mid 2008, a modular hexagonal panel system, the first product of its type, to stop evaporation on any size water storage.

Mr S K Sharma serves as the managing director of SBA Hydro Systems (P) Ltd, a total service provider in the small hydro power sector, covering all aspects from concept to commissioning, including operation and maintenance. Mr Sharma also works as the managing director of Indusree Power , a hydro power generating company which owns and operates a small hydel project ( 800 Kw) in Himachal Preadesh, and feeds power to the community through the Utility grid.

Mr Sharma has an engineering degree from BITS, Pilani and a post graduate engineering degree from IIT, Roorkee. Previously he served in a number of high ranking positions such as chief engineer, energy adviser , and UNDP consultant in the small hydro sector.

Mr Sharma is now engaged in developing customizable hydro electric equipment and civil designs suitable for generating power for varying size of villages. SBA is coupling this new technology with a community based approach to planning, design, construction, management, maintenance, and ownership of village-centric micro hydel projects.

Peter is the joint founder and Managing Director of Cleantech AustralAsia, a business established to accelerate the investment in and deployment of clean technologies in the Asia Pacific region. Throughout Peter's 20-year entrepreneurial career, he has worked at the leading edge of the sustainable development agenda and has advised leading corporations, governments and financial institutions. He has designed and run successful Cleantech Finance & Investment Initiatives throughout Asia and has recently completed a major international project for the Asia Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate to develop a Strategic Action plan to increase the investment in and deployment of renewable energy in India.

Peter is also the Fund Advisor of the Sustainable Melbourne Fund where he has pioneered a number of innovative financing models and turnkey solutions for the upgrade and retrofit of commercial buildings. Peter and has held roles including the Sustainability Advisor for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Head of International Business for Melbourne University Private, and National Environmental and Engineering Manager for Dunhill Management Services. Peter is a National Councillor for Environment Business Australia. He is a regular presenter at national and international conferences and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Education in Environmental Studies.

Mr. Jadhav did his MBA in Marketing and worked with leading Indian Corporate and MNCs spearheading their marketing activities. He has 15 years of marketing experience. Currently he heads the marketing division of Nandan Biomatrix Ltd.

To his credit he has successfully implemented the Franchisee Supply Chain Distribution Model and currently concentrating on further strengthening the same.

Peter Wakeman is a founding partner of Sunengy Pty Limited and his role is managing all business and investment matters.

Peter completed his trade as a Ship’s Plumber in 1974 and later worked in his own plumbing business. Between 1974 and 1992 he also had his own clothing and restaurant businesses; during this period Peter also worked in the mining and motor industries.

In 1992 he rejoined the motor industry and has for the past ten years been a Partner and Dealer Principal of a dual franchised General Motors and Mitsubishi Dealership in Maitland NSW, where he employs over fifty full time personnel. Peter has extensive experience in human resources; business analysis and development; sales and marketing.

Peter has been on a National Executive Marketing Committee for Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited; had a four year term as Chairman of a General Motors Regional Dealer Council; and is currently Chairman of The Australian Technical College – Hunter.

Peter and Phil Connor have been close friends for over twenty years.

Environmental Clean Technologies (ECT) Chief Executive Officer Kos Galtos was appointed CEO 2nd May 2008.

Galtos joined the company as the Chief Business Development Manager early 2007 after spending 12 years in senior management roles in the UK.

As a former Strategic Accounts Director of Siemens Plc, Galtos was successful in recruiting alliance partners to supplement the company’s capabilities including facilitating Siemens’ relationship with Parkview International’s Battersea Power Station redevelopment in London.

Galtos was lured back to Australia with a vision to establish a new and clever export industry for Australia that contributes to the new challenge of worldwide carbon emission reduction.

With an international track record in turning vision into a deliverable, profitable, value proposition for partners, Galtos has his mind set on leading ECT through its transition from Research and Development to Commercialisation while building confidence in the company’s technology by sharing information on the Coldry® process and benefits with the market.

Galtos is also a Director of Prima Nova Limited, a UK based sales and marketing company he started in 2001 that focuses on e-business and integrated building and media.

Vivek Mehra is the Country Head – Corporate Finance Private Equity and Sustainable Investment Bank at YES BANK. Vivek is spearheading two newly formed business units within YES BANK. In his Private Equity role he is responsible for setting up a Private Equity business for YES BANK by raising niche funds in Infrastructure, Special Situations, Real Estate, and Sustainable Investment area(s), with a geographic focus on India.

He is also responsible for establishing the Sustainable Investment Banking practice, which includes Advisory and Arranger work in Clean Energy, Environment and Social sector. In addition he is responsible for Carbon Trading & Financing initiatives within the Sustainable Investment Bank.

Vivek brings with him over 15 years of experience in investment banking, corporate banking & corporate treasury.

Prior to joining YES BANK, he was the founder Managing Director at VA TECH Finance (India) Pvt. Limited, a boutique Investment Bank, focused on Europe, CIS, India & Africa. Prior to holding this position, he was the Regional Treasurer of VA TECH Group for South Asia/ South East Asia.

Prior to this, Vivek was a part of the Corporate Banking Group at Standard Chartered Bank with a focus on relationship management. He has also worked with J.M. Financial Services Ltd.

Jason specialises in the structuring, establishment, promotion (including cross-border) and ongoing operation of regulated and unregulated, retail and wholesale fund products and services. He has extensive experience in funds covering all asset types, including securities, direct real property, infrastructure, structured products and alternative asset classes (including those involving the generation and trading of environmental credits). Jason's impressive list of clients includes the Future Fund Board of Guardians, Macquarie, Deutsche, Mirvac, AMP Capital and Schroders.

Jason lectures on Funds Management and Superannuation in the University of New South Wales Master of Laws course. This is the first specialist combined funds management and superannuation law course in Australia and has been developed in conjunction with the Clayton Utz Financial Services team. Jason is a regular speaker at industry forums including financial institutions and regularly authors articles relevant to the financial services industry. He has recently been presenting at industry forums on the incorporation of environmental, social and governance issues into investment decision making and the implications of climate change for the financial services industry.

From 1990 – 2000 Martin collaborated with inventor-aerospace engineer Barry Davis to develop and promote the DavisHydro Turbine, evolving the turbine design from a stand-alone unit to the ocean class tidal bridge. This pioneering Blue Energy breakthrough is uniquely distinct from other tidal power conversion methods in that it is a “resource driven design” as opposed to a technology driven design.

A passionate futurist and conference speaker on sustainability and energy technology solutions, Martin has acted in an advisory capacity in matters of energy sustainability with his vision for a low cost clean energy future. He presented a tidal power technology briefing to President Ramos and his Caucus of the Philippines, was a Keynote Speaker at COFE I & II (Conference of Future Energy), and OPEC I & II.He was selected by Hazel Henderson as a keynote speaker at OPEC I visioning a future after oil, and was asked to sponsor the follow-up OPEC II conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, the home of Blue Energy Canada, expanding on OPEC I and briefing delegates on high density sustainable energy opportunities.
